The Inauguration of Non-Formal Sanskrit Education Centre at Modi College

A non-formal Sanskrit Shikshan Centre inaugurated today at Multani Mal Modi College under guidance of college Principal Dr. Khushvinder Kumar for the preservation and restoration of Sanskrit language in collaboration with, Central Sanskrit University, New Delhi, Patiala. In this workshop the expert speaker was Dr. Varinder Kumar, Head, Punjabi University, Patiala.
College Principal Dr. Khushvinder Kumar while addressing the students said that with globalization the world has become a global village in which it is important to learn multiple languages. He said that Sanskrit is not only the language of our Vedas but also the language of Indian Philosophy and culture. He said that under NEP there is much emphasis upon learning of Sanskrit and this is a good move of Sanskrit University.
In his lecture Dr. Varinder Kumar explored the inter-connectivity between Punjabi and Sanskrit language. He said that Sanskrit is important to learn the origin of various Indian languages. He also told that Punjab is the land of ancient Vedas.
The participating students also received certificates on completion of 30 hours Sanskrit learning certificate course. The students were also motivated to join the 120 hours certificate course in Sanskrit. The stage was conducted by Dr. Rupinder Sharma, Head of Hindi Department. He also presented the vote of thanks.

ਸਥਾਨਿਕ ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਵਿਖੇ ਮਿਤੀ 24 ਨਵੰਬਰ 2023 ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਖੁਸ਼ਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਦੀ ਯੋਗ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਅਧੀਨ ਅਤੇ ਕੇਂਦਰੀ ਸੰਸਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ, ਦਿੱਲੀ ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਗੈਰ-ਰਸਮੀ ਸੰਸਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਸਿਖਲਾਈ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਦਾ ਉਦਘਾਟਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਖੁਸ਼ਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਨੇ ਆਏ ਵਿਦਵਾਨ ਡਾ. ਵੀਰੇਂਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ, ਮੁਖੀ ਸੰਸਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਵਿਭਾਗ, ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਦਾ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅੱਜ ਭੂਮੰਡਲੀਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਦੌਰ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਇਕ ਤੋਂ ਜਿਆਦਾ ਭਾਸ਼ਾਵਾਂ ਸਿੱਖਣਾ ਜਰੂਰੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸੰਸਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾ ਕੇਵਲ ਵੇਦਾਂ ਦੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਹੈ ਬਲਕਿ ਇਸ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਨੇ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਰਾਸਤ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕੇ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਉਨਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਨਵੀਂ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਨੀਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਸੰਸਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਦੇ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਫ਼ੀ ਅਹਿਮੀਅਤ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਤੋਂ ਸੰਸਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਦਾ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਸਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਸਿਖਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਉਪਰਾਲਾ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾਯੋਗ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਅਵਸਰ ਤੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਵਕਤਾ ਡਾ. ਵੀਰੇਂਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸੰਸਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਦਾ ਅਭੇਦ ਸਬੰਧ ਹੈ। ਆਧੁਨਿਕ ਆਰੀਆ ਭਾਸ਼ਾਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਉਂਤਪਤੀ ਜਾਨਣ ਲਈ ਸੰਸਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਹੁਤ ਮਦਦਗਾਰ ਸਿੱਧ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਅਧਿਕਤਮ ਸੰਸਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਸਾਹਿਤ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਰਚਿਆ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਅਵਸਰ ਤੇ 30 ਘੰਟੇ ਦੇ ਸੰਸਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਸਰਟੀਫਿਕੇਟ ਕੋਰਸ ਵਿਚ ਭਾਗ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਭਾਗੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰ਼ਮਾਣ-ਪੱਤਰ ਵੀ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਏ। ਸੰਸਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਦੇ ਮਾਹਿਰ ਵਿਨੈ ਸਿੰਘ ਰਾਜਪੂਤ ਨੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿਖੇ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਵਿਚ 120 ਘੰਟੇ ਦੇ ਸੰਸਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਕੋਰਸ ਵਿਚ ਭਾਗ ਲੈਣ ਲਈ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਪ੍ਰੋਗਾਮ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਮੰਚ ਸੰਚਾਲਨ ਅਤੇ ਰਸਮੀ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਦਾਰੀ ਡਾ. ਰੁਪਿੰਦਰ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਮੁਖੀ ਹਿੰਦੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਬਾਖੂਬੀ ਨਿਭਾਈ ਗਈ।
